Top technical analyst on investing using charts, chances for a year-end rally

Stephen Suttmeier, a top-ranked technical analyst who's chief equity technical strategist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, sat down CNBC's Mike Santoli for an educational interview on how investors can employ technical analysis to their advantage, his favorite sectors for the months ahead and trading based on seasonal patterns.

"Bullish seasonality starting in November suggests that we should find some firm footing," said Suttmeier during the interview. "It wouldn't surprise me to see the market work its way up to that 2,225 [level] and over time, 2,300 is potentially possible."
